Matt Slavin - Music | DJ | Studio Work Club NATO line up New Years Eve 1998 Up Yer Ronson Lineup

Background

I've always loved music - and dance music in particular. DJ'ing has always been a massive passion of mine. I now think it's time to mix the two fields - Music and Web and build on both. It's really exciting at the moment.

Lineup - K-Klass

Flash on the web is now starting to really be usable - and with Broadband access becoming more commonplace, streaming video and sound is now possible without agonising download times - which can often makes the user experience just too frustrating. I would like to combine the two areas - taking a fully rounded approach and enhancing the strengths of each. For this, I need to get back into a studio somewhere, and start making fat beats. (!)

I've played alongside named DJ's such as Norman Jay, Gordon Kay, Sonique, Pete and Russell, Tuff Jam, K-Class, Fluid, Lee Wright, Jazzy M (Ministry Of Sound) and for Up Yer Ronson and Hard Times.

I have also played as a resident at Club Nato in Leeds (UK) with a club capacity of approx 1000 people. A truly fantastic club, and awesome sound system, it was an unrivalled underground experience. It was where some of the world's finest DJ's - Roger Sanchez, Judge Jules, David Morales, et al have all jumped on the decks, and and many, many others besides. I believe the club isn't there now - but I haven't been to Leeds for some time, so an update is probably in order.

Working at MOBO and Dancestar allowed me to concentrate on Web Design work, whilst also being within the music scene. I also helped produce the Boy George show on Galaxy 105.

So anyway, please get in touch if you would like to get involved, or are interested in collaborating on some tunes. With the intention of building some wicked multimedia experiences....There's lots of stuff to be done!
